A lovingly restored Victorian house, the hotel has been newly-renovated to offer stylish and contemporary, yet comfortable surroundings, complimented by an old fashioned personal service that reflects the style of the property.

Set in Ilfracombe, the hotel boasts panoramic views over open countryside and proximity to stunning coastal walks, including the 10 minute stroll to the picturesque harbour, acclaimed Damien Hirst restaurant and the Quay.

The relaxed, friendly and natural atmosphere lends itself to the extra touches that make a visit to Norbury House unique, whether it’s helping yourself to a drink from the licensed cocktail bar, tea and biscuits in the Lounge or walking Bovril, the friendly Labrador.

Norbury House took on a new lease of life in May 2007 when your hosts Adam and Paula fell in love with and this property. They were previously based in London, Brighton and Bristol and have a long history of providing nothing but the best in hospitality. They have an enviable pedigree that encompasses operating bars, restaurants and late night venues as well as providing event management and development coaching.

Offering a fusion of contemporary style in a Victorian detached residence, the hotel comprises of:

Lounge
A wonderful comfortable contemporary space, retro leather armchairs and sofas. Fully equipped and stocked honesty bar for you to help yourself to a drink.

Terrace and Gardens
In front of the house the patio makes an ideal place to sit and relax on hot summer days and enjoy a cup of tea, cold beer or glass of wine. Or visit our terraced garden where you may prefer to just settle into one of the double hammocks and sway.

Conservatory
Help yourself to the extensive library of books and magazines, or have a go on the 1970’s fruit machine - the house always wins! Relax in a Conran chair and enjoy the views.

All rooms have views, whether it is of the garden or across Ilfracombe to the sea or countryside beyond.

The guest bedrooms are reached from a central staircase. The six comfortable contemporary guest bedrooms include suites, family/twin and double rooms. All have shower en suite facilities. There is also a Victorian promenade family bathroom with a bath on the first floor.

Room 7, on the second floor, is a family room with one double bed and 2 single beds. The room has a maximum occupancy of 2 adults and 2 children. - On entering Ilfracombe, at the 1st set of traffic lights turn left towards the sea front.
- At the next set of traffic lights go left and then left again.
- This brings you into Torrs Park.
- Continue along this road, and you will find us at the top of the hill on the right.

From Combe Martin (A399):
- At the 1st set of traffic lights in Ilfracombe High Street turn right into Northfield Road.
- At the next set of traffic lights go straight across and immediately turn left into Torrs Park.
- Norbury House is at the top of the hill.
